Local TV award for Southampton

Ofcom had to pick from two applications for the right to run local TV on Freeview in Southampton, and today has announced the winner.

Local TV on Freeview in Southampton has been awarded to the That's Solent bid.

The channel will appear on channel 8 for those able to receive the signal from the Rowridge transmitter, and will provide a service from 2013, it is hoped.

The service may also appear on channel 117 for Sky customers in the target area.
