I could not get bbc red button/text service, ONLY since JAN15 upto time of sending msg. Is it due to my freeview set-top box and/or tv set being faulty? or due to service suspension by bbc. I could not find the info anywhere at all.

Please help!

Leslie

dale: All of the channels on Freeview are free (as implied by the name). Freeview does not have any subscription channels.

All the channels on Multiplexers BBC-A, BBC-B and D3+D4 are free to view and are transmitted from all transmitters and transmitter relays.
Multiplex Aqr-A, Aqr-B Mux-SND, Local, etc are only transmitted from some of the main transmitters where you get more stations for the same licence fee.
Some of these are encrypted.

P.S.
H.D. channels and Film4+1 use different code to compress the singal (BBC-B)
So older Freeview TV's can't receave them.

Can you please explain the absence of any summary or mention (other than the bear result with the rest of the rugby union results throughout the country) of the Wales v Ireland sis nations match. There is a 5 page summary of the England v Scotland match as well as a further 2 page blurb further down the summaries, there is also a mention of today's Italy v France game? This ghosting of the existence and result of the Wales v Ireland match is most annoying but again begs the question why? This practice by the BBC is repeated in its hourly sports bulletins on radio 4 this morning where the Twickenham match is repeatedly mentioned as is the Italy v France game but not one mention of the above stated match, which was shown in full live on the BBC yesterday - what is going on and who is blocking this information from your news??

Paddy McElroy : This isn't the BBC's website, nobody on this independent technical help website has anything to do with any decision made by the BBC or any other broadcaster.

Paddy McElroy : Hi, Paddy: you are posting to the wrong website to comment on broadcast content: this is a technical website, where you can comment on tv or radio reception issues. For your issue, you need to contact the broadcaster who provides the Rugby sports content. I hope this helps you. Richard in Norwich.
