Hmmm, rxtvinfo.com has got a story about Sky Glass subscribers being the first to get HD streaming versions of the BBC regions in the very near future. I initially thought that the HD versions of the other channels might be for Glass users as well to tempt people to purchase Glass - but if this is the case why would a device that has no satellite connection need dummy entries in the satellite EPG/SDT?

Short answer, no.

Although many Freeview boxes and smart TVs have an iPlayer app intalled out of the box, all iPlayer content is delivered over the Internet.

If you have a mobile contract with unlimited data you could use the iPlayer app on the phone and Chromecast the picture to a suitably equipped TV. It's still using the Internet, but via your phone.

Lynn Simpson : Sky (the owners of the Pick brand), have closed the Pick+1 channel and it is no longer broadcasting. The closure happened on the 31st March. I don't think Sky have said much about why they've closed it.
