tony: I cancelled Sky and got Freesat when it started because I had read about the Lite service on the relays. I have no regrets !
Having said that, one of my neighbours in Wooburn Manor Park gets a fair signal from Crystal Palace from his chimney-level aerial and is considering getting a better one installed. Wooburn is quite variable in it's CP reception, but there ARE locations where it works reasonably well.
So, if you can get ANY sort of signal from CP, you might want to consider an aerial upgrade.
Otherwise, since you already have a Sky dish, you could consider Freesat.
Compare the full Freeview channel list with Freesat's and see what you think.
Hope this helps.
And YES, the Freeview adverts don't make it clear that Lite relays offer a very limited channel line-up !

tony: From what I remember, the leaflets Digital UK delivered to every household before switchover did mention that you may not get all of the channels (15 vs 40 depending on whether or not you got your signal from a relay). And if you had called or visited the Digital UK website, I would have told you how many channels you were expected to receive...
